Oracle Database Engineer Overview

As an Oracle Database Engineer, you can resolve a problem with a complete end‑to‑end geospatial database solution in a fast, agile environment. We’re looking for an experienced engineer with the skills needed to develop databases and systems from vision to production‑ready. In this role, you will utilize experience with geospatial data and databases ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity.

This role is more than just data management. As an Oracle Database Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your passion to master new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You’ll make sure the solution developed by the team considers the architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in software with a cloud‑first development approach
  • 4+ years of experience with enterprise data engineering development, including geospatial data
  • 3+ years of experience with OCI services and cloud‑native architecture patterns, including Compute, Autonomous Database, Exadata Database, security policies, security groups, and network security
  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience working with ETL/ELT pipeline development using OCI services
  • Experience with data lakes, data warehousing, and analytics platforms
  • Experience developing and deploying production geospatial solutions from concept to O&M
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation
  • Experience with data migration from AWS to OCI and with OCI AI offerings
  • Experience with database administration and optimization, including PostgreSQL with geospatial workloads
  • Experience designing and optimizing spatial database schemas, spatial indexing strategies, and complex geospatial queries at scale
  • Experience leading technical initiatives in large‑scale environments
  • Experience with system design, including scalability and reliability
  • Experience developing dashboards and monitoring systems to track streaming services

Salary

Salary range: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
