Job Responsibilities
The Senior Database Administrator designs, installs, maintains and upgrades the enterprise's production databases. Provides technical expertise in the use of database technology. Accountable for the overall performance of the enterprise's database environment. Works closely with clients, business analysts, systems programmers, and application developers to define and resolve information flow and content issues-helping to transform business requirements into environment specific databases. Monitors and analyzes performance metrics and allocates database resources to achieve optimum database performance. Performs additional job duties as required.
Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Deep understanding or experience supporting databases on Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) or ExaData/ExaCC/ExaCS
• Hands-on experience working with Oracle 12.1 through 19c.
• Database installation, upgrading, migrating, patching, disaster recovery, high availability, monitoring, assessing, and providing resolution.
• Experience with Oracle OEM for database monitoring, and problem diagnosis
• Experience with backup and restore using RMAN
• Knowledge and experience with database capacity planning
• Experience monitoring and analysis of performance metrics and allocation of database resources to achieve optimum database performance
• Familiarity with fail-over testing and participation in DR exercises
• In-depth knowledge of Goldengate or Data Guard replication
• Knowledge of other open source database platforms
• Working with Python, Shell, and PowerShell scripting.
• Designing automated deployments.
• Experience with Unix (AIX), and Linux operating system.
• Experience with Informatica.
• Experience with change management tools including Service Now.
