Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer to support the administration, modernization, and ongoing management of enterprise Oracle cloud infrastructure and database environments. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle databases, middleware, and related technologies while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal system performance.

The ideal candidate brings deep Oracle administration expertise, extensive OCI experience, strong automation skills, and the ability to provide production support in a mission-critical environment.

Job Description

The Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer will lead the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments supporting enterprise applications and databases. This role is responsible for Oracle database administration, middleware management, cloud infrastructure, automation, performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, and production support. The successful candidate will collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available Oracle environments while supporting ongoing modernization initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesOracle Cloud Infrastructure Administration
  • Design, configure, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
  • Administer Oracle databases, middleware, and supporting infrastructure components.
  • Configure and manage Database as a Service (DBaaS) environments within OCI.
  • Support Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring and administration.
Database Administration
  • Administer Oracle Database 19c and 26ai environments.
  • Plan and execute Oracle database upgrades, migrations, and conversions.
  • Perform database migrations, including upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 26ai.
  • Manage Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB), including cloning activities.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard.
  • Perform database performance tuning, optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Middleware & Application Support
  • Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with Oracle database backup, recovery, RMAN, and Oracle Data Guard.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with Oracle database maintenance, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Minimum of 10 years of production on-call support experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with Oracle Grid Control (13c or later).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience administering and supporting Oracle APEX.
  • Experience administering Oracle Database 19c and later versions.
  • Experience with Oracle Application Express (APEX) 18 and higher.
  • Experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) 22 and higher.
  • Experience administering Oracle WebLogic Server 14.
  • Experience upgrading Oracle Database from 19c to 26ai.
  • Experience with Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB).
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 24ai.
  • Experience with PSU patching using Oracle Fleet Management Tool.
  • Experience with DBaaS in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency using GitLab and Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architecture.
  • Ability to design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure environments.
  • Oracle certifications such as OCIP, OCP, or OCE.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript scripting.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and API integration.
  • Expertise with Oracle OEM Cloud Control.
