Title: OCI Cloud Architect

Location: Richmond, VA (On-site, 4 days/week)

Duration: Long-term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled OCI Cloud Architect to join our team on a long-term engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), with a deep understanding of designing, reviewing, and implementing secure and scalable OCI-based solutions. This role requires on-site presence 4 days a week in Richmond, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, review, and implement OCI cloud services and solution offerings based on best practices and Oracle’s Well-Architected Framework.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customer agencies, and managed cloud service providers to deliver secure, efficient, and compliant cloud solutions.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for cloud-related changes and project implementations with a focus on security, performance, and compliance.
  • Lead or support the migration and management of enterprise applications and operating systems in a cloud environment.
  • Develop documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment procedures to support OCI implementations.
  • Ensure cloud solutions align with business needs and critical application requirements.
  • Stay current on cloud trends, OCI updates, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other major cloud platforms.
  • Proven experience with public cloud architecture, operations, and governance—especially in Oracle OCI environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking including virtual networks, VPNs, subnets, network security groups, and load balancers.
  • Experience in cloud migration, implementation, and management of enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with security assessments and risk management within cloud projects.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OCI certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate or Professional).
  • Experience with compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, etc.).
  • Previous work in public sector or government cloud environments.
