Job description

CTG is seeking to fill a BI Developer – Planning Analytics & Reporting position for our client.

Location: Dallas, TX – Onsite

Duration: 6 months

Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex Cognos reports, dashboards, and scorecards using Report Studio, Analysis Studio, and Cognos Analytics 11.x/12.x.
  • Build and optimize Framework Manager models, namespaces, and query subjects to support enterprise reporting requirements.
  • Develop and manage TM1/IBM Planning Analytics cubes, dimensions, and Turbo Integrator (TI) processes for financial and operational planning.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance BI and reporting solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve report performance issues, metadata defects, and data discrepancies across development, test, and production environments.
  • Partner with data warehouse and ETL teams to ensure reporting solutions align with dimensional and relational data models.
  • Support Cognos lifecycle management, deployment, and promotion across multiple environments.
  • Configure and maintain Cognos security, including LDAP/Active Directory integration.

Skills:

  • IBM Cognos Analytics 11/12, Report Studio, Framework Manager, and Analysis Studio.
  • Strong SQL skills across relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
  • TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics and Turbo Integrator (TI) development strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and enterprise reporting architectures.
  • Experience with Cognos deployment, lifecycle management, and multi‑environment promotion.
  • Familiarity with LDAP/Active Directory integration and Cognos security configuration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Experience:

  • 9+ years of hands‑on IBM Cognos development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise‑level reports, dashboards, and data models.
  • Experience with Cognos Analytics 11.x/12.x, Report Studio, and Framework Manager.
  • Experience working with relational databases and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics and TI processes is highly preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with data warehouse, ETL, and business teams in an enterprise environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
