Job Description

Title: Oracle Implementation Specialist

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration:- Fulltime

Qualifications

As a member of IT Application Delivery, the Application Implementation Specialist III will be responsible for project implementation and third tier functional support. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Business Requirements

a)    Receive and review all business requirements and functional specifications as defined by the business process owner and business project team.

b)    Validate the functional specification and seek sign off from the business process owner and business project team.

c)     Challenge current processes and compare to best practices as dictated by the application utilizing standard functionality where applicable.

d)    Work with the business process owner in defining business processes to be implemented with the application.

e)    Develop GAP analyses between business processes and standard Oracle functionality.

f)     Map identified GAPs with proposed work around or customized solutions for review and acceptance by the business process owner.

g)    Participate in finalizing functional specifications business requirements with the business owner and the business project team.

h)    Follow the decision process defined within the project.

2.     Application Setup

a)    Determine the specifications that require setup.

b)    Preparation of the project documentation of all setup parameters (BR 100, etc.).

c)     Comply with the IT QA & Health Care team standards and references, in regards to quality, performance and reusability of the developed solutions.

d)    Preparation of scripts for testing of the application setup.

e)    Work with users in performing the tests (CRP and QA regression testing).

f)     Secure final signoff from the business process owners of the application setup.

3.     Customization Requirements   

a)    Design and document functional specifications (MD50)

b)    Review functional specifications (MD50) with Software Engineers and Application DBAs to define customization requirements.

c)     Evaluate and document the processes required to integrate customizations into the application setup.

d)    Work with IT personnel for technical specification and testing of all customizations with the functional team.

4.     Training

a)    Comprehensive training on customizations related to area of expertise for business core teams.

b)    Preparation of all training documents.

5.     Business Process Management and Management of Evolutions

a)    Represent Business departments in planning stages of new business practice changes impacting Oracle applications or other software processes.

b)    Gather requests from the user community. Validate priorities, budgets and resource availability with IT and business project managers and business owners.

c)     Follow Project Management Methodology, and manage tasks and activities specific to scope of new programs and/or projects.

d)    Deployment of the application to other business units and/or locations as requested.

e)    Participate in other validated projects involving any integration with the Oracle applications, interfaces, or other software related to business processes.

6.     Project Management

a)    Work with IT Project Manager to estimate, plan, schedule, monitor, evaluate, document and direct projects to ensure a complete business solution is implemented.

b)    Contribute in preparation of project plan based on project management methodologies for executing the project.

c)     Assist IT Project Manager in defining and managing the project's change control procedures and effectively utilizing all available methodologies and tools, culminating in client acceptance of results.

7.     Functional Support

a)    Post implementation support.

b)    Work with business users as a third tier resource for functional issues related to core area of responsibility within  Oracle Applications.

c)     Second tier resource for questions concerning the application functionality.

1.     Functional practitioner for Oracle Accounts Receivable with more than five full life cycle implementations.

2.     Understanding of Financial & Accounting processes.

3.     Expert knowledge of the Order to Cash process.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     Bachelor Degree in Accounting, IT, MIS, CS or equivalent required.

2.     Minimum of 10+ years of experience in implementing and supporting Oracle Applications.

3.     Ability to understand and manipulate concepts as to design solutions that will fit high level business requirements as well as every day's limitations.

4.     Ability to manage activities with short due dates and still follow established processes.

5.     Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and to identify and resolve project issues quickly and effectively.

6.     Technical understanding of application development and technical infrastructure of an Oracle 11i (11.5.x) ERP environment, with implementation experience.

7.     Solid analytical skills.

8.     Knowledge of standard Microsoft software applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Visio required.

9.     Good team building skills.

10.  Effective communicator at all levels of the organization.

11.  Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.

12.  Self-motivated, eager to learn and grow.

13.  Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment. Customer service oriented.

14.  Willing to travel, including international.
