They use APEX—a low-code development platform provided by Oracle—to create scalable, secure, and efficient applications tailored to business needs. Typical responsibilities include database design, application development, troubleshooting, and collaborating with clients or team members virtually. Remote Oracle APEX Developers leverage online tools to communicate and coordinate project tasks effectively. This role is ideal for those with expertise in Oracle databases, PL/SQL, and web technologies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Oracle APEX developer in a remote role?

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and self-motivation skills help you manage tasks independently and work effectively with distributed teams. These capabilities ensure efficient application development, smooth project delivery, and successful remote collaboration in a fast-paced technical environment.

Is seeking an experienced QA Analyst to support the Florida PALM Project-the State of Florida's multi-year initiative to implement a next-generation financial management platform based on Oracle PeopleSoft technology. This QA Analyst will play a key role in validating system transformation activities as the project transitions thousands of users and over 200 business systems to the new integrated financial platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans for ERP financial systems
  • Create, manage, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) suites aligned to business requirements
  • Translate detailed business and functional requirements into testable workflows and test scripts
  • Perform testing activities within Oracle PeopleSoft, including functional, regression, and integration testing
  • Conduct test automation within ERP environments, ideally leveraging Tricentis Tosca
  • Design automated tests and test packs within ServiceNow
  • Document defects, test results, and technical findings with high-quality technical writing
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams, including business analysts, developers, and Florida PALM agency stakeholders
  • Support agency readiness tasks for the upcoming project wave, including validation of financial processes, data workflows, and integrations
  • Ensure compliance with oversight standards from IV&V, FL DS, and the Executive Steering Committee
  • Provide exceptional communication across teams, including verbal, written, and stakeholder-facing interactions

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years QA testing experience
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally Oracle PeopleSoft
  • Experience working within ServiceNow (testing and/or workflow utilization)
  • Experience creating test documentation:

o Test plans

o UAT test suites

o Requirements translation

  • Experience with test automation inside ERP systems (PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Experience with test automation within ServiceNow
  • Proficiency with Tricentis Tosca
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Exceptional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • ISTQB certification(s)
  • Experience supporting large-scale public-sector modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with financial systems or financial business processes

Sample screening questions:

  • Can you walk me through a recent project where you performed QA testing within an ERP system, ideally PeopleSoft? What modules did you test, and what types of testing did you perform (functional, integration, regression, UAT)?
  • Explain your process for translating business or functional requirements into testable workflows or UAT test suites. Can you give a specific example of a complex requirement you converted into test cases?
  • Describe your experience with test automation inside ERP systems and any automation work you've done in ServiceNow. What tools did you use-such as Tricentis Tosca-and what types of scenarios did you automate?
  • This project involves cross-agency coordination and strict oversight. Can you describe a situation where you had to communicate defects, risks, or test results to non-technical stakeholders? How did you ensure clarity and buy-in?

11/13: I would not suggest Tricentis Tosca is a hard requirement, but some experience with no-code / low-code test automation is useful, especially in the ERP world. We find Tosca is often the usual in that kind of space.

It is definitely going to help if you can identify some that can actually work within a code-driven automation framework like Microsoft Playwright, but that can be a minority.
