Job description

Job Summary
Opus Inspection, a leader in the vehicle testing industry, is seeking an experienced ASE L1 Certified Technician to work in our Motorist Assistance Center located in Beverly, MA and provide assistance to Motorists, Inspection Stations and Registered Repair Station personnel. Go home with clean hands while increasing your diagnostic knowledge and skills. Tools, equipment and continuous training are provided.
Location: 128 Park St. Beverly MA, 01915
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; includes occasional Saturday's
Pay range: $64,000 - $66,000 annually

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assures that the MACs are properly maintained.
  • Provide training for inspectors.
  • Ensures performance of covert vehicles, including the set up and testing failures of covert audit vehicles.
  • Evaluates waiver requests and hardship extension requests.
  • Evaluate kit cars.
  • Evaluate vehicles referred to the MAC (readiness, targeted, etc.).
  • Visually inspect vehicles presented for repair waivers to determine whether the repair work has been done.
  • Respond to test interruption and hotline calls.
  • Assist Registered Repair Stations diagnosing vehicles that have problems with emissions.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Management staff.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A.S.E. Master Certified and L1 Technician certification; or ability to obtain certifications within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum 2 years of Automotive Service work experience

Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of general office systems (i.e. PC), procedures and methods.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Automotive diagnosis and repair strategies
