The Medical Assistant position is based onsite at our well-equipped Community Health Clinic in Decatur, GA. The clinic operates in a state-of-the-art facility that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and open communication among all staff members. You will work primarily in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment, where every day presents new opportunities to engage with patients and contribute to their healthcare journeys.

• Administer administrative tasks such as scheduling patient appointments, managing the calendar for healthcare providers, and accurately updating patient records in our electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Provide a warm welcome to patients upon arrival, gather their medical histories in detail, and ensure they are appropriately prepared for examinations or treatments.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, demonstrating a thorough understanding of medical protocols and maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
• Collect and prepare specimens for lab testing, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation in compliance with established standards.
• Administer medications and perform minor procedures under the supervision of the physician, prioritizing patient safety and adhering to treatment protocols.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests including blood pressure assessments, urinalysis, blood glucose monitoring, and Electrocardiograms (EKGs), ensuring accurate recording and documentation of results.
• Educate patients on medication usage and general health practices, fostering understanding and encouraging patient engagement in their healthcare.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of examination rooms and supply areas to create a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
• Collaborate effectively with the medical team to create comprehensive treatment plans and ensure coordinated care for patients.

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is highly preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent credentials from recognized organizations such as AAMA or AMT.
• Strong familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and basic pharmacology to engage effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
• Proficiency in EHR and other medical software is necessary for accurate patient documentation and data management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure compassionate patient interaction and teamwork.
• A strong ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and maintain composure in a busy clinic environment.

• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting, particularly in dermatology or related medical fields.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and specimen collection techniques.
• Experience in patient education and engagement initiatives.

The salary range for this position is between USD 35,000 and 45,000 yearly, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
