Job description

The purpose of this Assistant Professor position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research and patient care needs of the Department of Ophthalmology. The position will provide optical care, including annual vision screening, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions of the eye such as conjunctivitis, annual diabetic screenings, and other pathological conditions of the eye. The Optometrist can also receive referrals from ophthalmologists for patients needing monitoring and medical follow-up, increasing access to the surgeons, as well as access to triage and assessment of patients needing referrals to the surgeons. This position will have 8-9 clinic sessions per week and will have a primary clinic location on the mainland.
