Job Description
PSS LLC is currently taking applications for Light Equipment Operators for a 2,500-acre Data Center project located in Hubbard, Texas between Dallas and Waco. This role will operate light motorized equipment to support the maintenance of the site acreage, access roads, and facilities.
Job Type: Project based
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Duration & Schedule: 2-year project duration; 5-6 days per week, 10 hours per day
Per Diem: $95 per day worked with 7-days paid if full weekly schedule is worked. Must live 65 miles or greater from the site.
Responsibilities
  • Operate skid-steers and small front-end loaders to move earth, gravel, garbage and construction materials safely.
  • Operate forklifts to move materials around the worksite.
  • Mow expansive acreage and clear brush using tractor-mounted mowers to maintain site visibility.
  • Run compactor rollers to repair, maintain, and stabilize temporary haul roads and parking areas.
  • Manipulate diverse attachments such as buckets, forks, and augers depending on daily support needs.
  • Perform daily inspections on machinery, checking fluid levels, tires, tracks, and safety systems.
  • Report mechanical defects immediately to the maintenance supervisor to prevent equipment downtime.
  • Clean and grease equipment daily to ensure optimal performance and longevity in dusty conditions.
  • Navigate active zones with extreme caution around ground workers, utility lines, and heavy truck traffic.
  • Assist site service labor teams with manual labor tasks when equipment is not actively in operation.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for everyone on site.
  • Properly maintain and wear PPE.

Position Requirements
Qualifications
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Read, write, and speak the English language.
  • 2+ years of light equipment operation
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects up to 80lbs, standing for extended periods, sitting on and operating motorized equipment for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this role.
  • Personal transportation to the job site is required.
  • Must be able to navigate a computer or mobile device to complete online training and onboarding.
  • You will be responsible for securing your own housing while assigned to the project. Hubbard is a small rural town, so most housing will be found in local RV parks near Hubbard, hotels in Waco, and apartments in Hillsboro and Mexia.
