• Guide patients in selecting eyewear based on doctor recommendations, combining optical knowledge with an eye for fashion to ensure both visual success and patient confidence.

• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, materials, and proper eyewear care to help them make informed decisions.

• Accurately process eyewear orders, verify prescriptions, and ensure all job details are entered correctly to minimize errors and delays.

• Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear issues, providing timely solutions and ensuring patient satisfaction.

• Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, including assisting patients, answering phones, checking in jobs, and maintaining smooth workflow throughout the day.

• Understand and communicate vision and medical insurance benefits, copays, and coverage clearly to patients.

• Verify and collect appropriate copays and balances accurately at time of service.

• Assist with job check-in, quality verification, and preparation of eyewear for patient pickup.

• Collaborate closely with doctors, technicians, and front desk staff to support efficient patient flow and excellent care.

• Maintain a positive, professional attitude while contributing to a supportive team environment focused on growth and continuous learning.

Required Skills

• Previous optical sales experience required; ABO Certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process prescriptions, orders, and patient information

• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment

• Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) vision insurance, medical copays, and optical workflows

• Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning
