We have Optical Laboratories in Louisville, KY and Fort Lauderdale, FL and manage many optical stores across the US and Puerto Rico. PDS Optical is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Maintenance Technician I to join our team. As the Maintenance Technician your role is to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of our optical lab. This vital role involves performing routine, preventative, and predictive day to day maintenance on optical equipment and the facility. The maintenance technician supports the production of high-quality glasses and contributes to our overall success and commitment to excellence.


This is a full-time position with normal days being Sunday through Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:30am.

The pay range for this position will be based off relevant experience.

This position requires technical and maintenance experience. Optical experience is preferred but not required.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Repair and Perform Preventative Maintenance on all lab machinery in production
  • Perform or schedule with outside contractors all other building maintenance as needed
  • Must have basic plumbing electrical knowledge
  • Responsible for completing all maintenance service requests as assigned
  • Maintain all OSHA, Federal, State, Local and Company Safety Requirements for lab operations
  • Monitor and change all HVAC filters
  • Check and change light bulbs, interior and exterior as needed
  • Assist in heavy lifting, removing or rearranging furniture

This position requires working in close proximity to a diverse group of co-workers.
