As a Structured Cabling Installation Technician, your work keeps projects on schedule and systems performing safely and reliably.
What your day looks like- Lay out routes, stage materials, and assist with pulling fiber optic and electrical cables through conduits, ceilings, risers, and trays.
- Follow established safety protocols—lockout/tagout, PPE, ladder and lift practices—every step of the way.
- Team up with installers and supervisors to hit milestones on time and within budget.
- Care for job tools and equipment; keep them clean, calibrated, and ready for the next task.
- Flag issues quickly—obstructions, material shortages, or hazards—and communicate them to your lead.
- Join scheduled trainings to sharpen your installation techniques and stay current with evolving methods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with cable pulling or related trades is helpful, but drive and reliability matter most.
