Our organization is committed to fostering a supportive work environment that prioritizes the well-being of both our clients and our clinicians.

About the Organization

Sharpman Counseling is a community health clinic located in Hillsboro, Oregon, dedicated to delivering quality mental health services. We pride ourselves on a culture that values professionalism, empathy, and positivity. Our mission is to empower individuals to make meaningful changes in their lives while working to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health. Through collaboration and support, we endeavor to create fulfilling caseloads that enable our counselors to thrive.

Work Environment

This remote work setting allows for flexibility and convenience while maintaining a strong connection to our community health clinic. Our modern virtual practice is designed to enhance work-life balance, ensuring our therapists can dedicate focused time to their clients without the added stress of traditional outpatient settings. Additionally, with robust administrative support, our therapists can concentrate on delivering quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize a variety of mental health therapy techniques and interventions tailored to individuals and families facing diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to establish initial treatment and discharge plans.
  • Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions based on the client’s established treatment plan.
  • Develop initial treatment plans and coordinate necessary additional services, adjusting these plans as needed to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions in compliance with both facility regulations and professional standards.
  • Manage an assigned caseload effectively while participating actively in treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on care plans.
  • Adopt a client-centered approach and deliver services with a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Proactively address any patient concerns, ensuring that safety and satisfaction remain top priorities.
  • Embrace opportunities for additional responsibilities and functions as directed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Sharpman Counseling, our therapists provide care to adolescents, adults, and diverse family units. You will engage with clients facing a broad spectrum of mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to relationship issues and behavioral disorders. Your expertise will help inform and transform the lives of those seeking your guidance and support.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related Human Services field.
  • Current state or national licensure as a therapist, specifically as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Candidates must have completed necessary licensure requirements and be licensed by the State of Oregon.
Preferred Experience

We value candidates with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with both child and adult populations. Experience conducting therapy in virtual settings is a plus, as is familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid parental leave and 3 weeks vacation, allowing for a restorative work-life balance.
  • Annual stock awards.
  • Collegial work environment with an emphasis on collaboration.
  • Streamlined administrative support that allows you to focus on what you do best—therapizing.

At Sharpman Counseling, we are committed to your professional growth. Benefit from ongoing training, peer supervision, and access to resources that can help you expand your skill set and enhance your therapy practice. As you grow within our organization, pathways to advanced roles in clinical leadership and specialized therapy practices may arise.
