Job description

An Ophthalmic Technician is a healthcare professional who assists ophthalmologists in evaluating and treating patients with eye conditions and vision disorders. They perform preliminary eye exams, including measuring visual acuity, checking eye pressure, and conducting diagnostic tests such as visual field testing and imaging. Ophthalmic Technicians prepare patients for examinations and procedures, document medical histories, and ensure accurate data collection for physician review. They may also assist during minor procedures and provide patient education on eye care and treatment plans. Working in clinics and specialty eye centers, they play a key role in supporting efficient and high-quality ophthalmic care.
