Job description

Job Title: Ophthalmology Assistant Instructor
Summary: Work under supervision to teach assigned courses and provide support to students in assigned programs.
M-F 8am๏ฟฝ5pm , some weekends and evening may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • ๏ฟฝ Teach assigned courses in a hybrid format, including monitoring online activity for students in enrolled courses.
  • ๏ฟฝ Create and oversee laboratory days for students in assigned courses.
  • ๏ฟฝ Ensure placement of students in externship setting for required course hours, and review paperwork for assigned externships.
  • ๏ฟฝ Update and/or create courses in assigned program.
  • ๏ฟฝ Monitor students in an online and residential setting for attendance, grades, and other progress indicators.
  • ๏ฟฝ Assess student learning
  • ๏ฟฝ Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • ๏ฟฝ Review curriculum and textbooks with other instructors, program managers, advisory board, and school director.
  • ๏ฟฝ Monitor TWC, federal and accrediting standards compliance.
  • ๏ฟฝ Monitor policy/procedure compliance.
  • ๏ฟฝ Assist with student advising

Education/Experience:
  • Associates Degree required
  • Minimum three years๏ฟฝ experience as Ophthalmology Technician, Optometrist, or Ophthalmologist
  • Current Certification as an Ophthalmology Technician, Ophthalmology Medical Technician, Ophthalmic Assistant, Optometrist, or Ophthalmologist
  • Ability to present a professional image and act as a role model
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
