SI Utility is seeking an Experienced Heavy Forklift Operator with proven ability to operate 20,000 lb capacity forklifts and larger. This role supports critical shop and yard operations, safely moving large materials, equipment, and fabricated components across our facility. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all Safety policies and procedures and immediately report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions.
  • Wear required PPE and exercise Stop-Work Authority when conditions are unsafe.
  • Maintain forklifts and other assigned equipment in clean and serviceable condition.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, lubrication, and basic adjustments; report deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Safely operate heavy-capacity forklifts (20k lb+), man lifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and hoists.
  • Transfer oversized or heavy loads throughout the shop and yard safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring all loads are properly secured and balanced.
  • Stage, stack, and move materials and inventory as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Participate in all required safety meetings and training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Heavy forklift experience operating 20,000 lb capacity forklifts or larger — required.
  • Experience in an industrial, fabrication, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in safe handling of oversized or irregular loads.
  • Ability to operate man lifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and hoists.
  • Strong understanding of load securement, equipment inspections, and shop safety.
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
