The Opportunity:Avantor is seeking an Operator at our Nusil site. This role will be a full-time position based in Carpinteria, CA. Whatwe'relooking for

  • Education:High School diploma or GEDpreferred.
  • Experience:1-2 years of experience in packaging or distribution.
  • Certification(s):Nonerequired.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a chemical plant.
  • Understanding/familiaritywith cGMP and RCRA training.

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure the lines areset upand running to the production schedulein accordance withwork orders.
  • Understand line and pump configuration and be able to clean and inspect lines as well as perform linechangeoversas needed.
  • Perform prestart-up inspection on equipment and ensure that items that have failed checks are addressed.
  • Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized.
  • Willing to multitask and be flexible.
  • Keepaccurateproduction records.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment set-up and operations.
  • Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues. Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line andnotify QAof a contamination event.
  • Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler.
  • Manage hazardous and universal waste according to local,state,and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
