JOB DESCRIPTION - FORKLIFT OPERATOR ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Job Title: Forklift Operatorย 

Operations Reports To: Dock Supervisorย 

FLSA Status: Non-Exemptย ย 

Job Purpose Carefully move packages and material around our facilities.ย ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.ย ย 

1. Safely unload materials and merchandise from incoming trailers and load them to assigned outbound trailers.ย 

2. Performs required administrative tasks, for inbound unloading and outbound loading.ย 

3. Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.ย 

4. Inspect forklift to determine the need for repairs and note any defects on pre shift inspection form.ย 

5. Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.ย 

6. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facilities.ย 

7. Secure freight for transit.ย 

8. Being able to operate air compressor for airbag usage.ย 

9. Ensure freight is counted and loaded in the right DC trailer.ย 

10. Being able to perform different tasks such as working floor freight and mixed freight while keeping a good count of the goods and paying attention to detail.ย ย 

11. Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm, or untilย 


Required Skills/Qualifications

1. One to two years related experience or equivalent.ย 

2. Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.ย 

3. Forklift experience is a plus.ย 

4. Ability to work with minimal supervision.ย 

5. Commitment to excellence and high standards.ย 

6. Ability to manage priorities and workflow.ย 

7. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.ย 

8. Acute attention to detail.ย 

9. Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.ย ย 

Education

High school diploma or GED.ย ย ย

1. Continually required to stand.ย
