Dollar Express is the newest entrant in the dollar store segment of the retail industry. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Dollar Express operates 330 Stores in 36 states.
General Summary:As a Dollar Express Store Manager in Training you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting the Training Manager in the daily operation of a retail store. Under the direction, training and observation of the Training Manager, the Store Manager in Training (SMIT) maintains inventories, store appearance and completes daily paperwork. The Store Manager in Training must be willing and able to accept a Store Manager position within the Market upon completion of the training.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:โ€ข At the direction of the Training Manager, the SMIT supervises, trains, and develops store Team Members on Dollar Express operating practices and procedures (e.g., Door to Shelf). Must be able to effectively communicate and explain these (and other) standards and procedures to Team Members when directed by Training Manager.โ€ข Greets and assists customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answers questions and resolves customer inquiries and concerns.โ€ข Assists the Training Manager in weekly ordering of merchandise using cycle counts to ensure in-stock representation.โ€ข At the direction of the Training Manager, the SMIT assists in unloading all merchandise from delivery truck, organizes merchandise, and transfers merchandise from stockroom to store.โ€ข Assists the Training Manager in loss prevention efforts by maintaining a presence in the store and providing excellent customer service.โ€ข Acquires knowledge and executes all duties necessary for the effective and profitable operation of the store.
