Position Summary: Lift Operators at Eldora ensures the safe and efficient operation of ski lifts while providing excellent guest service. This role involves assisting guests with loading and unloading, monitoring lift functions, and maintaining a safe environment at the lift area. Lift Operators are key to creating a positive mountain experience by being attentive, friendly, and safety-focused in all interactions with guests and coworkers.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
  • Monitors lifts and personnel for Tramway compliance, this includes all signage and licensing, normal and emergency procedures, opening, operating, and closing procedures.
  • Maintains daily log books and related documents.
  • Participates in all phases of the job: opening, operational hours, and closing lifts.
  • Very thorough and accurate on all paperwork.
  • Exhibits support for Customer Service initiatives.
  • Must be flexible with schedule to accommodate opening and closing needs and special events.
  • Responsible for compliance with mountain safety practices to minimize injuries and unsafe practices.
  • Responsible for compliance with Tramway Safety Board and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain the safe and continuous operation of the ski lifts.
  • Assist passengers in the safe loading and unloading of lifts, while providing excellent customer service by interacting with guests.
  • Maintain load and unload ramps and areas around all lift stations by shoveling and/or raking snow.
  • Organize the maze to provide orderly and friendly access to the lift and manage crowds for efficient loading.
  • Be familiar with all policies, procedures and rules regarding operating and riding a ski lift and ensure that these are followed by staff and guests.
  • Maintain a neat clean appearance including personal presentation, lift equipment and the surrounding area.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.
  • All employees are expected to support Eldora's corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.

  • Be able to work on the mountain, which consists of being primarily outside and requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces.

Schedule:
  • Non-Peak Days (M-F): 7:30am-4:30pm
  • Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): 7:15am-4:30pm
  • This schedule represents an average work week and is subject to change based on guest volume, operational needs, and weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • The proposed hiring rate of $18+ actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
  • Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Additionally, this position accumulates sick time.
