Job description

Salary: $16-$18 hourly

JOB OVERVIEW (1 or 2 sentences regarding purpose of job)

The Welder Helper supports the lead welder by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Key duties include grinding, cleaning, moving parts, and operating tools.

SPECIFIC TASK, DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist lead welder in the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of metal structures and equipment.

Clean and maintain welding equipment and work area.

Operate hand and power tools.

Assist in the layout and assembly of metal components.

Preparing welding machines, setting up torches, gas cylinders, and extension cords.

Holding parts in place, aligning pieces, and assisting with complex, multi-person tasks.

Perform other duties as assigned by lead welder.

Removing slag, rust, and excess metal using grinders or wire brushes.

WORKER REQUIREMENTS (education, certifications, experience, etc.)

PREFERRED:

The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and metalworking, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

REQUIRED:

Valid Louisiana Drivers License

High school diploma or equivalent

Able to work under varying conditions

Ability to lift heavy objects

HOURS/SCHEDULING

Monday-Friday

7am-4pm

Call outs as needed.
