Job description

Premier Cooperative is an Illinois farmer-owned cooperative providing agricultural commodities and energy products. Premier employs approximately 100 people across 26-grain elevators that surround the Champaign, Illinois area.
Job Description: Tasks include but are not limited to grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and the loading of grain on trucks and rail cars. Monitor stored grain condition and inventory levels. Maintain and cleaning of assigned grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and your fellow team members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Abide by all cooperative safety and environmental policies, protocol, and procedures
  • Load and unload grain by truck and rail cars, segregates, maintains and monitors inventory quality and condition throughout drying, aeration and blending processes as directed by supervisor.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently
  • Participates and documents the housekeeping and preventable maintenance of assigned facilities
  • Maintains a courteous, polite and helpful attitude with team members, customers, vendors and contractors taking advantage of opportunities to assist and meet their needs by promoting a positive Premier experience.
  • Complete Pre-Trip Inspections as required.
  • Maintain the general appearance of the facilities of Premier to include elevators, grounds, buildings, etc.
  • Assists other team members at other facilities when needed
  • Work extended hours as needed
  • Be at work on time and ready to work with a neat and clean appearance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Grain experience a plus
  • Willing to work extended hours, weekends and holidays during peak seasons
  • Able to climb on a regular basis, no fear of heights
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently required to climb, stand, walk and stoop
  • Frequently required to work in all weather conditions outdoors
  • Frequently required to lift 50 lbs. or more.
