Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire, 6-month conversion period

Pay: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday−Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hybrid schedule with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite and Monday and Friday remote

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Support Specialist to support daily financial operations and help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing. This position will be responsible for account reconciliations, financial research, regulatory support, account maintenance, and customer service activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing confidential information while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations for bank and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies while identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Prepare journal entries and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained.
  • Research complex account inquiries, legal requests, subpoenas, and account verification matters.
  • Assist with required regulatory and government reporting activities.
  • Research and retrieve historical account records, statements, check images, and other documentation.
  • Complete required withholding and interest reporting accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Support annual escheatment activities, including account review and related compliance requirements.
  • Respond to incoming calls, emails, and secure messages in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process account maintenance requests and updates as needed.
  • Manage returned mail and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
  • Provide additional operational and administrative support to the department as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in banking operations, deposit operations, or general ledger reconciliation.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or high school diploma with at least 7 years of banking experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and procedures quickly.
