JOB DESCRIPTIONย 

We areย seekingย a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a full-timeย Security Supervisorย at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. In this key leadership role, you will oversee a team of security personnel responsible forย monitoringย our facility, including the building interior, parking garage, and loading docks.ย ย 

Working closely with employees, contractors, clients, and guests, the Supervisor helpsย ensure safe and efficient building operations at all times. Supporting the security management team,ย youโ€™llย assistย in enforcing company policies and procedures, while also helping toย maintainย the integrity of our advanced security systems, includingย Cโ€ขCureย 9000, Avigilon, Key Watch, and PPM. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the safety and success of world-class events in a high-profile venue.ย 

ย JOB RESPONSIBILTIESย 

Employee Relations:ย 

  • Coaches, mentors and provides training for all securityย guards and Lead Handsย 
  • Preparing working schedules, process payrollย and approve overtime, shift changes, time off etc.ย ย 
  • Administersย progressiveย disciplinary action when necessaryย 
  • Coordinates security services with other departmentsย and clientsย 
  • Maintains effective working relationshipsย with all internal and external customersย 
  • Assists the Security Management team in the achievement of goals andย objectivesย directly or throughย the security teamย 

ย Policies and Procedures:ย 

  • Assistsย the management team with the development of policies and interprets and ensures consistent application of security policies and proceduresย 
  • Documents and implements work methods,ย policiesย and proceduresย 
  • Assistsย the management team in the enforcement of company policiesย 
  • Must be able to balance security need and client expectationsย 

    ย JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Post-secondary education in a related field (College diploma or higher required).ย 
    • 2โ€“4 years of progressive experience in security, with working knowledge ofย Arrest Authorities, Trespass to Property Act, Ontario Fire Code and Life Safety Systems, Access Control and CCTV Systems.ย 
    • Proficiencyย with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and EBMS software.ย 
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and lead a team.ย 
    • Proven experience in crowd management and event security within fast-paced environments.ย 
    • Effective communicator with exceptional organizational,ย team-building, and customer service skills.ย 
    • Demonstrated ability to manage emergencies calmly and efficiently using sound judgment.ย 
    • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.ย 
    • Comfortable working under pressure while managing multiple priorities.ย 
    • Familiarity with integrated systems such asย Cโ€ขCureย 9000, Avigilon, PPM, Key Watch, intercoms, and fire panel operations.ย 
    • Capable of conducting on-the-job coaching and providing progress updates to management on new trainees.ย 
    • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to compile clear, detailed reports using incident management software.ย 
    • Previousย security experience in a hospitality or large event venue environment is considered an asset.ย 
    • Completion of a Police Foundations, Law Enforcement, or Community Justice Services program is an asset.ย 
    • Valid Private Security and Investigative Services license.ย 
    • Standard First Aid, CPR, & AED โ€“ Level C.ย 
    • Validย Smart Serve certification.ย ย
