Job description

Position Summary

The Operations Technician supports the Operations department by participating in lab supplies shipping & receiving tasks, inventory management, inventory movement, lift machinery operation and cycle counting, operational activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receiving and Shipping activities to include raw materials, finished goods, consumables and chemical waste.
  • Performing equipment daily usage checks and filling out appropriate logbooks.
  • Chemical and Reagent Receipt and handling following all safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records for all Shipping and Receiving activities if applicable.
  • Maintain Stability samples, warehouse inventories and Laboratory consumables in SAP and Stock cards.
  • Weighing, counting and documenting the weight of components for dispensing, in-process and /or finished product (reconciliation).
  • Proper handling and control of multiple warehouses owned and operated by Transpire Bio.
  • Dispensing of Stability and Raw Material requests for R&D and GMP Manufacturing (API, DPI, SMI Components etc.) if needed.
  • Inventory handling using cGMP and SOP requirements.
  • Laboratory Waste, compressed gas cylinder pickup, delivery and scheduling.
  • Safe and efficient handling of gas powered, electric or manual lift machinery.
  • Follow cGMP, EH&S, and other relevant guidelines of Transpire Bio, FDA, DOT, OSHA and other governing bodies.
  • Cleaning of Operational rooms and equipment as needed while documenting in appropriate logbooks/cleaning forms.
  • Participate in project team activities and support project timelines and proactively contribute to meeting the team objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with team members, delivery drivers (FedEx, UPS, DHL etc.) and outside vendors.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
  • Transportation of raw material and finished goods across multiple warehouses.
  • All other relevant duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of High school diploma
  • 1 year Shipping and Receiving experience within a Pharmaceutical Environment preferred.
  • SAP Experience highly preferred
  • Familiarity with equipment used in Medical Drug and Medical Device development to aid in Calibration, shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Proficient in Computer Literacy to include Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective English written and oral communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of FDA, cGMP, GDP and SOPs related to job requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, batch records, protocols, work instructions and cleaning procedures.
  • Proficient in English to sign and verify process documentation.
  • Ability to speak and understand English effectively.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using different units of measure to include averages of whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense thinking and understanding to carry out detailed written instructions.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch for a minimum of 8 hours. Employee will be subject to temperatures ranging from 2C to 25C on a daily basis and must be able to transport product in and out of refrigerated cooler within those temperature ranges. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to fumes airborne particles, toxic and/or caustic chemicals (PPE Provided). The noise level in the work area may be loud at certain times. The employee will be required at times to wear a PAPR respirator and/or TYVEK or TYCHEM jumpsuits during cleaning operations, as well as eye protection, hearing protection, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. The employee may be required to work additional hours from time to time, including weekends (O/T). Shift hours are subject to change due to operational needs.
