Description
Under direct supervision of the VP, Loan Operations Manager, the Loan Operations Specialist II (Funding/Boarding) funds new loans and supports loan boarding while ensuring documentation accuracy and policy compliance. The role maintains records, verifies loan setup, processes payments and disbursements, and serves as a key contact for clients and internal teams. The incumbent will support loan servicing functions and resolve complex issues. This position requires that the individual work in office.
Ensures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Fund all new loans, including comprehensive review of loan documentation, insurance compliance, and funding conditions
  • Provide back-up support for boarding all new loans, renewals, extensions, and modifications on the Bank software
  • Maintain Funding/Boarding Log to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely processing
  • Perform callback, as needed, for boarded loans to verify accuracy and completeness of loan setup and documentation
  • Perform ongoing loan file maintenance, including document imaging and record retention in accordance with policy
  • Provide customer service for clients, title companies, attorneys, branches, and internal departments regarding funding and servicing matters
  • Monitor the Funding email inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries
  • Provide back-up support for all aspects of participation loan servicing including funding, advances, and payments
  • Process and review loan payments and advances for construction loans and lines of credit
  • Prepare and process disbursements, including wire transfers, ACH transactions, and cashier's checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Research and resolve complex loan servicing and funding issues
  • Support Management with audits
  • Provide recommendations to management for enhancements to procedures and operational processes
  • Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of funding/boarding or loan operations experience
  • Working knowledge of commercial loan documentation and servicing
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and manage workload
  • Strong interpersonal skills; presents a positive and professional image
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment:
The incumbent in the course of performing this position frequently spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, operating basic business equipment, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, client contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and frequent interruptions. The incumbent for this position will occasionally lift up to 15 pounds, pull, squat, kneel and reach. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which they are free to move about at will. The work environment is typically quiet to a moderate noise level.
