Job Title: Assistant/Associate/Professor of Mathematics (in support of Data and Decision Analytics)

Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics at Furman University invites applications for a tenure‑track position at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level, beginning in the fall 2027 semester. The successful candidate will primarily support the department's new major in Data and Decision Analytics, which emphasizes coursework and scholarship in statistics, operations research, probability, modeling, and simulation.

Responsibilities
  • Support the department's new major in Data and Decision Analytics, emphasizing coursework and scholarship in statistics, operations research, probability, modeling, and simulation.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in statistics, operations research, or industrial and systems engineering. Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics also welcome.
  • Must hold a Ph.D. by August 1, 2027.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence, scholarship, and effective institutional service.
  • Clear interest in and evidence of teaching and scholarship aligned with the Data and Decision Analytics major.
