Functional area: Project Management
Remuneration: Exempt
The Sr Operations PMO Associate position will support projects of varying sizes (duration, funding, stakeholders, etc.) throughout the full project management lifecycle. Project scopes range from installation of physical wind turbine upgrades to strategic fleetwide improvement projects and various internal departmental and company-wide projects and inititatives. The ideal candidate will be skilled in problem-solving, developing new business processes, managing contractors and performing technical work for RWE Americas' various wind farm sites.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Project-manages multiple projects and initiatives with site staff and other internal and external stakeholder groups (incl. Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Controlling, HSSE, Quality, etc.)
  • Focuses on organizational projects with various internal stakeholders, particularly project execution strategy development
  • Supports and assists other project managers (e.g., with project scheduling, project controlling, etc.)
  • Acts as a key interface toward vendors and contractors, ensuring activities are performed in accordance with RWE's safety protocols
  • Ensures projects are delivered on-time, with quality and within budget
  • Supports creation of status reports for management review
  • Tracks program performance metrics and compiles lessons learned for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promotes a culture of safety compliance, operational excellence, and value optimization for the wind farm assets
  • Supports the development of project office templates and processes
  • Performs other ad hoc duties as required

Job Requirements and Experiences:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or related field
  • Project Management certification preferred (ex: ACPM, PMP)
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in project management
  • At least 3 years of experience in the wind energy sector preferred
  • Experience in business strategy, project management, or consulting
  • Working knowledge of project lifecycles, scheduling, vendor coordination and program management principles
  • Understands operational, contractual, and safety requirements
  • Ability to escalate complex problems and risks to leadership on mitigation
  • Applies program management practices to multiple projects with limited guidance
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Ability climb 300 ft up a wind turbine when projects require "hands on participation"
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to perform 25% travel to and from job sites as assigned
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
