Project Manager (Construction Materials Testing)

Location: Sulphur, LA


Job Description

Position Summary

The Project Manager oversees assigned construction materials testing projects from proposal through closeout. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients and project teams, delivering responsive service while maintaining quality standards, accurate documentation, and safe work practices.


Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals, fee schedules, and project documentation using approved formats and obtain required approvals.

• Coordinate project setup, including project numbers, client contacts, scope details, and contract information.

• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to understand scope, testing requirements, and client expectations.

• Assign field technicians and backup personnel in coordination with dispatch.

• Meet regularly with clients and project personnel to confirm needs, resolve issues, and maintain strong service.

• Review, correct, sign, and distribute reports in accordance with project requirements.

• Review project billing, invoices, accounts receivable, and accounts payable items related to assigned projects.

• Train technicians on project-specific reporting, sampling frequencies, testing requirements, and other job expectations.

• Promote safe work practices and support a safe work environment.

• Support business development, client retention, and growth within the assigned market.


Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 7 years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

• Knowledge of construction documents, plans, specifications, testing procedures, and field operations.

• Strong client-service, project-coordination, and report-review skills.

• Proficiency with computers, testing-related software, and Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with strong mathematical aptitude.
