Job description

Job Title: Shift Leader / Supervisor

Department: Operations

Reports to: Plant Manager

Direct Report: Lead Hands

Overview:

The Shift Leader oversees and ensures every aspect and detail of the shift runs smoothly. The Shift Leader will manage, and be accountable for the Production and Packaging departments, and follow up with Support Teams (Sanitation, Maintenance Quality and Warehouse). The Leader will lead by example and is responsible for building and maintaining a cohesive Operations Team i.e., Production, Packaging, Quality Control, Maintenance, Sanitation and Warehousing. He/she will assure that both internal and external customer needs are met, while conforming to budgets, and schedules. A strong emphasis will be placed on developing, coaching and mentoring Lead Hands and Hourly Employees. Focuses on keeping management apprised through regular reports i.e., Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and any other such reporting tools. Also, responsible for reporting all non-conformances to the Quality Team, and following up with corrective actions.

  • Support your departments with measured and sensible Metrics, which will become consolidated into accurate and detailed Reporting, presented daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.

Treasure Mills Duties:

  • Create a Platform of Walk-Throughs, Meetings, Huddles and Reviews that are efficient, informative, and preliminary for ensuing follow up actions; you shall moderate those meetings that need your direct involvement.
  • Directly or indirectly, Hold Accountable all employees to meet standards, whether Company Standards regarding Conduct, Procedures, and Systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides a safe environment to all employees, adhere to all GMP's, food safety and HAACP programs
  • Manages and coordinates the activities of all departments and their employees.
  • Motivates, organizes and encourages teamwork within the workforce to create strong morale and to achieve or exceed departmental goals.
  • Continuously explore all opportunities in processing and operations to create savings and benefit for the company, participate in daily evaluation of all products and provide constructive feedback to ensure product excellence
  • Verifies and approves Production, and Packaging scheduling of personnel to accommodate production needs. Adjusts crew to various departments and/or machines to manage workflow and control labor and overtime hours.
  • Supports all established plant and departmental goals and objectives and maintains programs and procedures in operations.
  • Reviews operational schedules and manufacturing activities to ensure that production and quality of products meet specifications and run rates.
  • Performs GEMBA walks through the shift to ensure all employees meet GMP's, standards and specification, and to report non-conformances to the Quality Team.

Meet with Lead Hands and Operators throughout the shift to ensure Production and Packaging priorities are on target.
