Summary of Job Duties:The Pharmacy Technician IV-340B program position supports the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Service Lines 340B operations with program oversight in its entirety. The tech IV assists the 340B Program Manager and pharmacy administration with day to day program management, providing oversight to mixed use areas, contract pharmacy, invoice payments, procurement, and ensures policy is upheld. This position is well versed in pharmacy operations and has a good working knowledge of the EMR system. The position supports self-audit practices as well as program audits by outside entities including HRSA. This position assists in accountability for 340B program compliance, maintenance, and testing of split-billing software, and helps ensures appropriate safeguards are in place to maintain program integrity. Other duties include but are not limited to managing purchases, accumulators, receiving and inventory controls. The position also supports 340B cost savings initiatives and works directly with third party administrators for the program.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED plus 4 yrs Pharmacy Tech Experience or Bachelors Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences;

ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program

PTCB National Certification

Work in a specialized technician role (controlled drugs, order entry, pharmacy buyer)

Computer Skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

Prior supervisory experience. 2+ years of UAMS pharmacy experience

340B Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Filling prescriptions, selecting the right drug, brand, form, strength, and quantity, and accurately counting and packaging the medication.
  • May also prepare compounded medications, IV fluids, and other mixtures for patients.
  • Taking inventory, ordering supplies, checking goods received, and reviewing pharmacy stock for expired drugs.
  • May also oversee and manage compounding facilities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain proper handling of controlled substances.
  • Other duties as assigned.
