Job description

Woodford Oil Company is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Propane General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our propane operations. This leadership position is responsible for the overall performance of the Propane Division, including operations, strategic planning, customer service, personnel development, safety, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and business growth.
Position:
This is a full-time leadership position responsible for directing all propane-related activities across the organization. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, employee development, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Job Duties:
  • Oversee all aspects of the Propane Division, including operations, strategic planning, personnel, safety, and compliance.
  • Work with other division leadership to develop and execute annual business plans, budgets, and growth strategies for the propane business.
  • Lead and mentor propane operations personnel, customer service representatives, drivers, technicians, and managers.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local propane, transportation, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through continuous training, accountability, and performance management.
  • Monitor service levels and customer satisfaction while identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Manage division financial performance, including revenue growth, expense control, margins, and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain key customer and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee fleet, equipment, bulk plant, and facility maintenance programs.
  • Analyze market conditions, competitive activity, and emerging industry trends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Thorough understanding of propane distribution operations and industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of propane delivery logistics, routing, storage, and supply management.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.

Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of propane industry experience required.

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing propane delivery operations, service, bulk plants, cylinder exchange programs, and customer service functions.
  • Knowledge of propane supply, storage, transportation, inventory management, and seasonal demand planning.
  • Knowledge of P&L analytics, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance metrics.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing teams in a multi-location operating environment.
  • Experience working with propane-related regulatory requirements, including DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, NFPA 58, state LP gas regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of propane safety programs, incident investigations, emergency response planning, and risk management best practices.
  • Experience with CETP training programs and industry safety standards preferred.
