Client in Greer, SC is in the market for an Operation’s Manager – this will be a DIRECT HIRE.  (They specialist in hot and cold wound spring manufacturing for a variety of industries and applications.)

 

MUST have the following EXPEREINCE:

  • Strong Engineeing Knowledge (Civil, Industrial & Mechanical)
  • Strong lean manufacturing knowledge
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience for both
  • NO time for any type of training – company growing rapidly and must hit the ground running
  • MUST have excellent computer skills

 

Hours: 8am-5pm (M-F)

Pay Range:  $140,000K - $180,000K (Depends on Experience)

 

SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager oversees daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role manages people, processes, equipment, and performance metrics to meet customer demand while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The position collaborates closely with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does have supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across production lines, departments, or shifts.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards and minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor and optimize workflow, capacity, and performance against KPIs.
  • Coordinate with planning and materials teams to ensure material availability and proper resource allocation.
  • Manage, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and production employees.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and communication.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support talent development and succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and facility safety policies and drive a zero-injury culture.
  • Lead daily safety reviews, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Support quality programs to maintain product specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering to address nonconformances and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Promote a culture of right-first-time manufacturing.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Lead or support Lean/6S, Kaizen, SMED, TPM, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze operational data to address bottlenecks and enhance equipment utilization.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to plan preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Ensure equipment reliability and minimal unplanned downtime.
  • Participate in capital planning and equipment upgrades.
  • Manage departmental budgets and control operating costs.
  • Track labor, scrap, overtime, materials usage, and other cost drivers.
  • Implement actions to improve cost efficiency and throughput.

  • Proficiency with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
