Road construction, asphalt paving, aggregate production, hot mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete supply are the core activities. In addition, the Company acts as general contractor on civil construction projects, including excavation, utilities, concrete placement, sidewalks, and curbs, and in all kind of road construction related activities.

Mission

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a Labourer to join our Highway Crew, based out of Crescent Valley, BC. This position requires frequent travel to support highway projects across the region.

Main Responsibilities
  • General labourer duties associated with road construction operations.
  • Required ability to shovel, rake, and handle other small tools.
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality of the mat by filling holes, raking, sweeping, and getting it ready for the rolling operation.
  • Responsible for ensuring all the necessary tools are ready to go on the appropriate trucks for the day ahead.
  • Aid the paver operator, screed operator, roller operator, and foreman to enable them to focus on their jobs.
  • Assist in keeping all the equipment fueled, watered, greased, and cleaned.
  • Operate equipment as needed.
  • Yard, plant, and equipment clean-up as needed.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
  • Follow instructions from the supervisor/manager.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent preferred
  • Junior position, no experience required

  • Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements

This is a unionized position with an anticipated wage of $25.00-$29.68 CAD per hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
