Job description

Definition: The Operations Manager is a member of the leadership team. The Operations Manager is responsible for running both ALS/BLS calls. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all duties assigned to them by the Director of Operations.
Management Duties:

  • Assist with recruitment, screening, hiring, and orientating all field staff.
  • Responsible for evaluating, coaching, and discipline up to a 2nd written warning for all field staff.
  • Responsible for reviewing the daily schedule and working with scheduling to address gaps and needs during the workday. Address any staffing needs during the weekend and to plan ahead for any gaps that may happen during the week.
  • Responsible for review payroll discrepancy and to bring any issues to the director.
  • Directs and leads operations supervisor in inventorying, ordering, receiving, stocking, and issuing medical, office supplies.
  • Ensures that field staff maintain appropriate certification and licensure for their position.
  • Enforces all company policy, procedures and SOG’s.
  • Handles hospital and customer complaints, follows up in a timely fashion.
  • Develops a strong relationship with all our partners.

Operations Duties:

  • Makes sure that ALS/CCT/BLS ambulance is ready to always go status.
  • Can be assigned to a production truck when needed due to staffing.
  • Responds to calls from dispatch in the set parameters.
  • Acts in the capacity of an FTO.


    Working environment:
    The job of the Operations Manager is a “production” team member. This incumbent will be assigned to an ambulance on a regular basis. However, this position will also have administrative responsibility that will be assigned by the Director of Operations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Nationally Registered or Commonwealth of Virginia Paramedic or EMT.
    • NIMS 100,200,700,800
    • BLS Health Care Provider
    • ACLS (If Paramedic)
    • PALS (If Paramedic)
    • Current Valid State Issued Driver’s License


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate's degrees in EMS, Paramedicine or Management.
    • 3-5 years of experience as an operations supervisor or equivalent role.
    • NIMS 300,400.
