Atlantic Fields is seeking a Wellness Specialist to join the Fitness and Wellness Department. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and team members.
Seasonal Full-time October - May.

Job Summary

The Wellness Specialist is passionate about creating exceptional experiences that inspire Members to live healthy, active, and balanced lives. This role provides outstanding hospitality while leading fitness classes, personal training sessions, wellness activities, and recovery services. As the first point of contact in the Wellness Center, the Wellness Specialist warmly welcomes Members and Guests, manages the reception desk, assists with scheduling appointments and classes, answers questions, and ensures each visit begins and ends with exceptional service. The Wellness Specialist helps maintain a clean, organized, and inviting wellness environment while building meaningful relationships with Members and encouraging healthy lifestyles. By delivering personalized service and supporting the daily operations of the Wellness Center, this role plays an important part in creating memorable experiences that reflect the Atlantic Fields culture.

Certified candidates will have the opportunity for pre-approved commission-based private bookings within their field(s) of certification(s). Multiple certifications are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

Member Experience

Welcome Members and Guests with genuine hospitality and professionalism.

Build meaningful relationships by learning Members' names, preferences, and wellness goals.

Deliver personalized service that creates memorable wellness experiences.

Answer questions and provide information about fitness classes, personal training, recovery services, and wellness offerings.

Encourage Member participation in wellness programs, events, and challenges.

Front Desk & Reception

Serve as the first point of contact for the Wellness Center by greeting Members and Guests.

Manage the reception desk, including check-ins, appointment scheduling, class reservations, and phone inquiries.

Maintain an organized reception area and ensure a welcoming environment.

Assist Members with purchases, memberships, and wellness-related questions.

Communicate daily schedules and coordinate with the Wellness team to ensure seamless service.

Fitness & Wellness Services

Lead group fitness classes and wellness programs.

Conduct personal training sessions tailored to Members' individual goals.

Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and promote safe use of fitness equipment.

Support recovery services and educate Members on wellness best practices.

Motivate and inspire Members throughout their wellness journey.

Facility Operations

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Wellness Center.

Restock towels, beverages, and wellness supplies throughout the day.

Monitor fitness equipment and report maintenance needs.

Ensure all wellness spaces meet cleanliness and safety standards.

Assist with opening and closing procedures.

Teamwork & Club Support

Work collaboratively with all departments to create exceptional Member experiences.

Assist with wellness events, tournaments, and special programming.

Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.

Uphold the Atlantic Fields culture by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and genuine hospitality in every interaction.

Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge of fitness, health, and wellness profession.

Certified personal trainer certification accredited by NASM, NCCA, ISSA, or equivalent required

Strong communication skills as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team

Experience in the Spa, Fitness, and Wellness industry and/or customer service role preferred.

CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise techniques.

Prefer candidate to be a certified personal trainer and/or certified group fitness instructor.

Certification Examples: Certified Functional Strength Coach, Certified Yoga Instructor, Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer, etc.

Certified Nutritional coaching highly desirable.

Active proponent of health, fitness, and wellness.

Additional Requirements

Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

Ability to show up on time.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
