Assistant Operations Manager - Plumbing and Mechanical Infrastructure - Base Salary to 95k/year - Honolulu, HI

  • Our client is a repiping and mechanical infrastructure solutions company specializing in large-scale plumbing infrastructure replacement projects for occupied apartment and condominium communities. They are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support daily operations across multiple active construction projects.
  • This role supports the Division Manager, Project Managers, and field teams by coordinating project documentation, reviewing construction drawings, assisting with RFIs and submittals, tracking project progress, and helping ensure projects remain on schedule. This position is similar to a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator role and is ideal for an early-career construction professional. Candidates must currently reside in Hawai'i.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day operations across multiple active construction projects
  • Create, log, distribute, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawing revisions, and other construction documentation
  • Prepare and coordinate submittal packages with engineers and construction managers
  • Assist with project scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow coordination
  • Attend project meetings in person or virtually, document meeting minutes, track action items, and follow up on deliverables
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports
  • Coordinate communication between field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and office staff
  • Review construction drawings, blueprints, and project plans to verify scope, layout, and constructability
  • Review contracts and scopes of work to ensure field activities align with contractual requirements
  • Assist with vendor and subcontractor pay application review and processing
  • Monitor material deliveries, equipment, and tool availability for active job sites
  • Support construction safety compliance documentation
  • Assist with payroll review and reporting
  • Maintain organized project files and construction documentation
  • Support client communications regarding project status and documentation

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of construction experience in operations, project coordination, project engineering, construction administration, or a related role
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related construction field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience preparing or coordinating RFIs and submittals
  • Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, and project plans
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and project documentation simultaneously
  • Ability to travel throughout the service area using a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement
  • Ability to obtain required company insurance clearance
  • Ability to work approximately 50 hours per week
  • Current residence in Hawai'i
  • Experience supporting plumbing, mechanical, MEP, repiping, or commercial construction projects is highly desired

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 85k - 95k/year range
