Job description

Title: Project Manager – New Product Development

Location: Crawfordsville, IN

Hire Type: Direct HIre

Compensation: $135-145k + Bonus

Travel: Approximately 4–6 trips per year under normal circumstances

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead technical new product development and manufacturing projects from concept through production launch. This role will partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.


The preferred location is Crawfordsville, IN, supporting an approximately 300-person manufacturing operation focused on plastic injection molding, pumps, fittings, couplings, and related components. The role may also be based in Greenwood, NE, supporting a smaller operation focused primarily on electric valves, valve actuation, and electro-mechanical assembly.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical Project Manager who understands how to take a product or project from development through manufacturing launch. We're looking for someone who can coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, customers, and other stakeholders while bringing structure, accountability, and a process-improvement mindset to the project management function.


Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional new product development and production launch projects
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, and deliverables
  • Coordinate projects across Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, Operations, and customers
  • Drive accountability and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Communicate project status, risks, changes, and priorities to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage multiple complex technical projects simultaneously
  • Work directly with customers to understand requirements and support successful project execution
  • Implement and improve project management processes, tools, and best practices
  • Improve project visibility, communication, and consistency across teams
  • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Microsoft 365
  • Support new product development initiatives that drive profitable growth


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within a technical manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing new product development, product launches, or complex manufacturing projects
  • Technical degree preferred; Engineering, Technical, Business, Agricultural, or related disciplines considered depending on experience
  • Strong cross-functional experience working with Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, schedules, and stakeholders
  • Experience establishing or improving project management processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel between Indiana and Nebraska and occasionally to customer locations

Travel
