What is an operations manager project manager?

Operations Manager Project Managers are professionals who oversee both the operational aspects and project management functions within an organization. Their role combines ensuring daily business operations run smoothly with planning, executing, and closing specific projects. They coordinate teams, manage resources, set timelines and budgets, and work to achieve organizational goals efficiently. These managers act as a bridge between upper management and project teams, ensuring strategic objectives are met while maintaining operational excellence.

How does an operations manager project manager balance strategic oversight with hands-on project execution?

Operations Manager Project Managers are often required to juggle both high-level strategy and day-to-day project management. This dual responsibility means regularly aligning project objectives with organizational goals while also staying closely involved in timelines, budgets, and team coordination. Success in this role often depends on strong time management, clear communication, and the ability to delegate effectively. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—such as finance, HR, and technical departments—is common, ensuring that operations run smoothly while projects are delivered on time. Over time, professionals in this role can advance to senior leadership positions by demonstrating their ability to drive both operational excellence and successful project outcomes.

Location: Kingston, WA
Schedule: Full-Time, 100% Onsite

Compensation: Approximately $95,000 annually, DOE

CV Resources is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in Kingston, WA to identify an experienced Project Manager. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role responsible for driving projects from initial planning through manufacturing, delivery, and post-sale support.

This position serves as a key liaison between customers and internal teams including sales, engineering, procurement, production, quality, finance, and shipping. The ideal candidate is a proactive project leader who can anticipate challenges, keep complex projects moving forward, and communicate confidently with customers throughout the process.

What You'll Do
  • Manage projects from initial planning and scheduling through manufacturing, shipping, installation when applicable, and after-sale service.
  • Develop project schedules, timelines, critical paths, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project scope, budgets, materials, inventory, production progress, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing/Supply Chain, Production, Quality Assurance, Accounting, Contract Administration, and Shipping.
  • Serve as a primary point of communication for customers, providing clear updates regarding project status, timelines, quality, and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify risks, delays, or operational challenges and develop corrective action plans to keep projects on track.
  • Partner closely with production teams to ensure customer and contractual timelines are met.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, reports, and project data.
  • Support bid/proposal preparation and contract administration as needed.
  • Participate in post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and in accordance with customer and quality requirements.
What We're Looking For
  • SAP Business One (SAP B1) experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 2–5+ years of experience within a manufacturing and/or construction environment
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, production timelines, materials, and resource planning
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence navigating customer issues, changing timelines, and challenging conversations
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate issues rather than simply react to them

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing Project Manager who enjoys being close to the operation, building strong customer relationships, and taking true ownership of projects from start to finish.

CV Resources is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
