Job description

True North Hotel Group, an award-winning management and development company, is seeking an Operations Manager to join our team at our TownePlace Suites in Hays, KS. We offer awesome benefits and a great family culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the General Manager with all hotel operations
  • Clerical duties including reviewing financials, budgets, inventory, guest billing. Supervise guest ledger and direct bill revenue postings and accounts all credit card and check cashing and payment policies. Maintain and monitor the safe cash bank on a daily basis.
  • Communication with staff and guests to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Promote good associate communication through associate feedback, oral and written communication, proper training and a minimum of one department meeting per month.
  • Inspect and review hotel areas and departments.
  • Resolving guest complaints concerning the front desk, billing inquiries or housekeeping issues.
  • Understand and consciously use the Quore system.
  • Follow proper key control procedures for issued keys.
  • Participate in weekend Person in Charge (PIC).


SUPEPRVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment: interview, train, hire and communicate with staff. Assist with onboarding.
  • Manage department personnel and ensure that all operations are running smoothly
  • Schedule and distribute work assignments for the departments.
  • Ensure all department associates are updated with most recent information of hotel policy, safe work habits and emergency procedures, including all key control procedures and MSDS sheets
  • Supervise the training and handling of reservations, cancellations and shop calls
  • Ensure daily Huddle meetings are done as directed by the General Manager


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years front desk experience
  • Hotel Experience is a plus
