Job description

Position Summary

as the Junior Assistant Superintendent supports the site construction team in delivering residential homes on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards. This role is ideal for someone early in their construction career looking to gain hands-on experience in residential building operations.


Key Responsibilities

Site Coordination & Support

  • Assist the Superintendent in daily site operations for low-rise residential construction (single-family, semi-detached, or townhomes)
  • Support scheduling and coordination of trades and suppliers
  • Help ensure work is completed according to construction timelines and sequencing

Quality Control

  • Perform regular site walks to monitor workmanship and adherence to plans/specifications
  • Identify deficiencies and assist in tracking and resolving issues with trades
  • Support pre-possession and deficiency inspections

Health & Safety

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment on site
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Assist with site safety documentation, orientations, and toolbox talks


Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in residential construction (co-op or internship considered)
  • Basic understanding of residential building processes and materials
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with construction software is an asset
