Department Overview
Operations is comprised of three separate departments, each with distinct roles and responsibilities to ensure the proper segregation of duties. The Settlement and Funding team is responsible for the pre-closing process including deal and fee structure, trade activity, document management, KYC and settlement coordination. Portfolio Administration is responsible for the booking of deals, daily servicing activity such as payment processing, advances and rate resets, as well as the maintenance of referential data. The Loan Accounting team is responsible for the daily verification of cash activity, the reconciliation of positions with our Trustees, and the creation and reconciliation of month end general ledger accounting entries. Operations play a pivotal role in the data integrity of the investment portfolios. The teams collaborate closely with many other areas of the Firm including the Front Office, Treasury, Tax and Fund Accounting.
Position Responsibilities
Golub Capital has one intern position for our Operations team. This intern will assist with some or all of the following tasks:
  • Monthly Operations close processes
  • Cash wire creation and input to banking portals
  • Daily entry of LIBOR and f/x rates from Bloomberg
  • Compilation of Operations metrics for quarterly CEO management reporting
  • Provide operational support to managers, analysts, Debt Team and Treasury Team as needed
  • Workflow diagramming and process mapping using MS Visio
  • Creating educational materials for team training; logistical planning for informational sessions
  • Process improvement/automation projects

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Sophomore, Junior or graduate student attending local university interested in financial services
  • Ability to work full-time from mid-June to mid-August
  • Working knowledge of Excel required, MS Visio beneficial but not required
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, while demonstrating strong teamwork
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and priorities under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, analytical and detail-oriented
  • COVID vaccination required, subject to applicable local, state and federal law

  • Portfolio Administration: Manages daily processing related to agented and non-agented deals (e.g., rollovers, advances, credits, wire requests) for a portfolio and ensures cash is reconciled with loan accounting group.
