Job description

Description
This position has a target start date in summer 2026. This role will provide a sample of what this career path may intel, especially the volume of travel and experience that will be obtained. This job will be a field assignment on a construction site, and you must provide your own transportation to/from the project.
As a Construction Management Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project and assist the Construction Management team members in the execution of their project work, on-site and in the field. These projects will primarily be on power generation projects.
Working under the direction of construction managers, this internship will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Construction Management in one or more of the following areas:
  • Support oversight of client construction projects to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Aid in coordinating projects by assisting project managers with essential documentation including regular reporting, RFI tracking, procedure tracking, and other project specific requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring project schedules and tracking progress of the contractors.
  • Engage in diverse tasks related to project reporting, including monitoring project activities, evaluating progress, and managing correspondence.
  • Participate in on-site activities, collaborating closely with construction professionals to gain practical experience in various aspects of safety, quality, and overall construction activities.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
  • Must have an expected graduation date in Fall 2026, Spring 2027, or Fall 2027 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
  • Must have reliable transportation (Ability to pass a motor vehicle report) and valid driver's license.

Valued but not required skills and experience:
  • Enrollment in a BSCM, MSCM, BSEE, or MSEE from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior, related internship or co-op experience.
