As part of our continued growth, Versar is supporting the United States Postal Service (USPS) Integrated Facility Services Management (IFSM) programโ€”delivering comprehensive facility operations and maintenance services across a nationwide portfolio of mission-critical facilities.

Who You Are:

The Facility Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the execution, oversight, and performance of all facility operations and maintenance activities at assigned USPS sites under the IFSM contract.

You are accountable to ensure all services are delivered in strict accordance with contractual requirements, safety standards, and operational performance metrics. You bring a strong combination of technical facility expertise, leadership capability, and contract compliance discipline, with the ability to manage complex, multi-vendor environments in active, high-demand facilities.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

Program & Contract Management

  • Provide full oversight of IFSM services in alignment with contract requirements, Statements of Work (SOW), and Statements of Objectives (SOO).
  • Ensure all services meet or exceed USPS performance standards and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain operational continuity in occupied, mission-critical facilities.
  • Serve as the on-site authority responsible for contract execution and service delivery.

Facility Operations & Maintenance Oversight

  • Direct all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across facility systems.
  • Ensure compliance with inspection, quality control, and maintenance standards.
  • Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions to maintain facility performance.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Oversee service delivery and enforce performance, safety, and compliance expectations.
  • Review scopes of work, validate completion, and approve invoices.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with USPS safety and health standards and all applicable regulations.
  • Enforce accident prevention procedures and workplace safety programs.
  • Protect USPS facilities and assets.

Financial & Cost Management

  • Manage site-level budgets and control costs.
  • Track labor, subcontractors, materials, and ODCs.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing and cost control requirements.

Reporting & Systems Management

  • Utilize CMMS systems to track maintenance and generate reports.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for audits and performance reviews.

Customer & Stakeholder Interface

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for USPS representatives (CO, COR).
  • Maintain strong communication and customer satisfaction.

Emergency Response & Continuity

  • Lead response efforts for facility incidents and emergencies.
  • Ensure continuity of operations.

What Youโ€™ll Bring:

  • 7โ€“10+ years in facility management or O&M.
  • Federal or large-scale contract experience preferred.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; in lieu of a degree, equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant facility management experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with federal contracting and safety standards.
  • Possess and maintain a valid US driverโ€™s license and must meet minimum state requirements for vehicle insurance.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidateโ€™s start date.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $75,000 - $85,000/year

Versar Global Solutions provides the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicantโ€™s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicantโ€™s status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work onsite at assigned USPS facilities in Chicago, IL.
