Job description

Description
We are seeking a Cloud Supervisor to lead our cloud infrastructure and application support teams. This leadership role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of FCBH's systems, enabling impactful ministry through effective technical operations. This is not a remote position, this job reports to and is located in our Albuquerque office.
Responsibilities include:
1. Understand cloud infrastructure and application environments by engaging with cloud engineers, application support staff, DevOps, and development teams to assess system health, availability, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
2. Maintain visibility into system architecture, cloud platform capacity, and performance through regular reviews of telemetry, incident reports, cost metrics, and emerging needs from the software development and project support teams.
3. Develop and maintain a strategic infrastructure roadmap, including upgrades, migrations, scaling plans, security initiatives, and disaster recovery strategies. Ensure priorities are ordered for maximum mission impact while balancing budget and personnel constraints.
4. Supervise cloud engineering and application support teams, ensuring their skills, tools, and staffing levels are appropriate to support current and future infrastructure demands.
5. Coordinate closely with software development leads, product managers, and DevOps to ensure platform and infrastructure readiness aligns with the needs of application delivery pipelines.
6. Oversee implementation of observability, uptime, reliability, and incident response practices, ensuring documentation, alerting, and escalation protocols are in place and effectively followed.
7. Serve as the primary point of communication about infrastructure and cloud initiatives across FCBH, including external vendors or partners where applicable.
8. Ensure comprehensive documentation of cloud systems, operational procedures, and support runbooks are created, updated, and accessible.
9. Inspire and empower your teams toward operational excellence and mission-focused service delivery.
Requirements
Qualifications include:
Required:
  1. Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of managing interdisciplinary teams and communicating clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  2. Proven experience with cloud operations and support leadership, including prioritization of infrastructure projects and incident resolution in mission-critical environments.
  3. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code, networking, identity/access management, and cost optimization.
  4. Ability to develop and enforce standard operating procedures and runbooks for repeatable and reliable infrastructure and support operations.
  5. Comfortable navigating complex systems and tradeoffs under pressure, including coordinating incident responses and postmortems.
  6. A collaborative, servant-leader mindset with a focus on enabling others.
  7. Willingness to work under pressure and availability for after-hours escalations if needed.

Preferred:
  1. Five or more years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps leadership roles.
  2. Technical certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or similar).
  3. Experience managing application support teams or helpdesk operations.
  4. Familiarity with security and compliance requirements in global or nonprofit contexts.
