SPA's Corporate Growth (CG) team is responsible for all aspects of organic growth for a $1B private equity owned company. Scope includes marketing, pipeline management, business intelligence, opportunity capture, proposal development, differentiation and win strategies, company strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan.SPA has an immediate need for a Growth Strategist with experience in business development focused on the Air Force market.

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule within the Northern VA/Metro DC area.

Responsibilities

In this highly visible role you will:

  • Lead corporate growth activities, including opportunity identification, business development, capture management, proposal development, and pipeline growth focused on US Air Force.
  • A priority for this role is to identify and capture large opportunities (>$100M) leveraging company-wide capabilities as well as develop and lead cross-divisional collaborative teams to pursue these opportunities.
  • Develop and lead a win strategy for Air Force opportunities:
    • Meet with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.ย 
    • Lead call plan development, execution, and follow-up activities.ย 
    • Lead solutioning and strategy efforts.ย ย 
    • Perform market research to include customer preferences, competitive analysis, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop and present data in Capture Hygiene Checks, Solution Design Reviews, and Gate Reviews.ย 
  • Lead development and author RFI responses and white papers.ย 
  • Proposal writing and leadership of management and technical volumes to include project management plans, basis of effort development, technical volumes, past performance and staffing plans.ย 
  • Collaborate with corporate growth personnel, and other staff across the company to support cross enterprise objectives and customer engagement.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearanceย 
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience in business development for professional services contracts supporting the Air Force, DoW
  • Proven experience driving revenue growth and executing captures within the Air Force market
  • Experience building and managing a $1B+ pipeline
  • Demonstrated experience creating growth strategies and executing captures for US Air Force opportunities with a value exceeding $100M for single-award contracts and exceeding $500M for multiple award IDIQ contracts
  • Proven ability to develop creative and/or differentiated solutions for Air Force or DoW clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and engage with senior Air Force stakeholdersย 

Desired Qualifications:ย 

  • Experience leading capture across various Air Force organizationsย 
  • Proven success in winning single award contracts in excess of $250M total contract value
  • Experience with commercial Business Intelligence tools such as Govwin and Bloomberg
  • Experience with OTAs, CSOs, SBIR Phase IIIs and other alternative contracting options are a plus
  • Experience with selling commercial solutions is a plus
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps opportunities
