Fort Lauderdale, FL • On-site

i-payout
Finance and Insurance • 11 - 50 employees

Full-time

This job post has expired today. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida — In-office strongly preferred Company: i-Payout / International Payout Systems, Inc. Industry: Fintech / Cross-Border Payments / Global Payouts The Opportunity

i-Payout is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to take senior executive ownership of our global payment operations and strategic partner relationships.

This is not a traditional back-office operations position.

We are looking for a strong business executive who has spent significant time inside the cross-border payments industry and understands how international payment networks actually operate — including banks, payment processors, payout partners, FX providers, payment rails, commercial agreements, pricing, implementation, and ongoing partner management.

The successful candidate must be capable of representing i-Payout directly with senior executives at banks, processors, financial institutions, and payment partners and negotiating sophisticated commercial relationships on behalf of the company.

What You Will Own

The COO will have responsibility for major areas of i-Payout's payment operations and strategic partner ecosystem, including:

  • Global and cross-border payment operations
  • Banking and financial institution relationships
  • Payment processor and payout-provider relationships
  • International payment rails and payment methods
  • Vendor and strategic partner management
  • Contract negotiation and renewals
  • Pricing and economics with payment partners
  • Operational performance and scalability
  • Implementation and launch of new payment partners
  • Cross-functional coordination among Operations, Finance, Compliance, Technology, Sales, and executive management
  • Identification and resolution of operational and commercial problems
  • Development of stronger processes, accountability, reporting, and organizational structure
Required Experience

Candidates must have significant direct experience in cross-border payments.

We are specifically interested in executives who have worked for established organizations involved in areas such as:

  • Cross-border payments
  • International money movement
  • Banking/payment infrastructure
  • FX and international settlement
  • Marketplace or gig-economy payouts
  • Merchant acquiring or payment networks

Experience simply working at a general fintech company is not sufficient.

The candidate should understand the economics and mechanics of international payments, including payment routing, banking relationships, processors, settlement, FX, transaction pricing, partner dependencies, and operational risk.

Business & Commercial Strength

This individual must be more than an operations manager.

We want someone with strong commercial instincts and business judgment who can sit across the table from a bank, processor, or global payments company and negotiate effectively.

The successful candidate should be comfortable:

  • Negotiating multimillion-dollar commercial relationships
  • Reviewing and challenging payment pricing
  • Understanding transaction economics and margins
  • Negotiating processor and banking agreements
  • Evaluating new payment partners
  • Identifying unfavorable contractual provisions
  • Holding vendors accountable for service and performance
  • Developing alternative partners when necessary
  • Making decisions based on both operational requirements and profitability
Leadership Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organized. Able to manage numerous banks, processors, projects, contracts, integrations, deadlines, and internal stakeholders simultaneously.

Commercially aggressive but professional. Knows how to negotiate and protect the company's interests while maintaining important long-term relationships.

Hands-on. This is not a position for someone who only manages through layers of staff. The COO must be willing to get directly involved when an important processor, banking, operational, or commercial issue needs to be solved.

Decisive. Able to analyze a problem, obtain the necessary information, make a decision, and drive it through completion.

Financially sophisticated. Comfortable evaluating pricing, transaction economics, FX spreads, processor costs, revenue opportunities, and contractual financial commitments.

Executive-level communicator. Capable of representing i-Payout with banks, processors, strategic partners, customers, and senior management.

Ideal Background

We are particularly interested in candidates who have held senior leadership roles such as:

  • COO
  • EVP/SVP Operations
  • Head of Global Payments
  • Head of Payment Operations
  • Head of Banking & Payment Partnerships
  • Managing Director
  • General Manager
  • SVP/VP Global Payments

Candidates coming from large, established cross-border payment organizations will receive strong consideration.

Experience supporting high-volume payouts for marketplaces, gig-economy companies, global workforces, direct selling, insurance, affiliate networks, or similar mass-payment environments is particularly valuable.

What We Are Not Looking For

This role is not intended for:

  • A general corporate operations executive with no payments background
  • A traditional bank operations executive without meaningful cross-border payments experience
  • A project manager
  • A pure compliance executive
  • A technology-only payments executive
  • Someone whose payments knowledge is primarily theoretical
  • Someone who has only managed domestic ACH or card operations

We need someone who has actually operated within the global payments ecosystem and negotiated with the companies that move money internationally.

Success in This Position

Within the first year, the COO should have:

  • Taken executive ownership of i-Payout's major banking and processor relationships
  • Established clear accountability throughout payment operations
  • Improved organization and execution across the department
  • Reviewed major processor and banking contracts and commercial terms
  • Identified opportunities to improve pricing and margins
  • Strengthened partner performance and redundancy
  • Improved the process for launching new payment methods and partners
  • Reduced operational bottlenecks and unresolved issues
  • Built a scalable operating structure capable of supporting continued international growth
Bottom Line

We are looking for a payments executive with the business judgment of a COO, the negotiating ability of a commercial executive, and the operational discipline to run a complex global payments organization.

Substantial cross-border payments experience is mandatory.
