Job description

Established, High-Volume Gourmet Deli Expanding Through Franchising

An award-winning, high-volume gourmet deli with a loyal customer base is seeking an experienced Director of Operations / General Manager to lead daily operations and help drive the next phase of growth as we expand into franchising.

This is not a traditional restaurant management position. We're looking for a business operator—someone who takes ownership, challenges the status quo, develops high-performing teams, and is passionate about continuous improvement.

You'll have the authority and responsibility to improve operations, increase sales and profitability, strengthen company culture, and build scalable systems for future growth. We are looking for a Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) who thinks like an owner and delivers measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team
  • Build a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Manage labor, food costs, inventory, scheduling, and quality standards
  • Analyze key performance metrics and implement operational improvements
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales, profitability, and customer loyalty
  • Develop systems and processes that support multi-unit and franchise growth
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience every day

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of restaurant, deli, or hospitality leadership experience
  • Strong operational and financial management skills, including P&L responsibility
  • Proven ability to improve performance, grow sales, and control costs
  • Experience leading, motivating, and holding teams accountable
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with an ownership mentality and a passion for building businesses

Compensation & Opportunity

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Profit-sharing opportunities
  • Paid vacation
  • Long-term growth opportunities with an expanding franchise organization

We're Looking for Someone Who...

  • Takes ownership instead of making excuses
  • Makes decisions with confidence and integrity
  • Leads by example and earns the respect of their team
  • Constantly looks for ways to improve the business
  • Wants to play a key leadership role in building a growing brand

If you're an experienced operator looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact and grow alongside an expanding company, we'd love to hear from you.

When applying, please describe one operational improvement you implemented that produced measurable business results.

Company Description

We are an established, high-volume gourmet deli with a strong local reputation, loyal customer base, and ambitious growth plans. As we expand into franchising, we're building a leadership team of high-performing operators who thrive on accountability, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
